Singapore – March 13, 2015
With a festive opening ceremony held in the previous week, New Asia Investments has started the operations of another water treatment plant in Vietnam. The plant is fully operational and already delivering water to municipal and industrial clients under long-term supply agreements.
The new water treatment plant is located near Vinh, Nghe An province, in central Vietnam. Currently, it has a production capacity of up to 1,000 m3 of water per day which can be expanded in a possible second phase of the project. The plant is designed for an ultimate capacity of up to 4,000 m3 of water per day. Processes used include modern ultrafiltration technology.
The plant has been designed and built by De.mem Pte Ltd, a New Asia Investments portfolio company. De.mem is an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) company with offices in Singapore and Vietnam. The company completed a number of projects in Vietnam and other South East Asian countries recently.
At the same time, New Asia Investments has streamlined its portfolio of water treatment plants by exchanging its investment in the Duc Hoa Waste Water Plant against a higher stake in the Duc Hoa Water Plant. New Asia Investments now owns 90% of Doc Hoa Water Plant. The water plant investments are consolidated under the entity and brand GD Wasser Pte Ltd, which is now in full ownership of New Asia Investments.
